Abu Dhabi TV, now in HD on Eutelsat Hot Bird 13C
Abu Dhabi TV, Abu Dhabi's general programming television channel, has started its broadcasts in free and high definition through the Eutelsat Hot Bird 13C satellite (13º East).
Abu Dhabi TV is also present on other satellites, such as Badr 6 (26º East) and Eutelsat 7 West A (7º West).
The Arabic channel is managed by the largest media group in the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi Media Company.
The chain initially began broadcasting in 1969, but was relaunched in 2008. It is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Although it is a generic channel and not a 24-hour news network, Abu Dhabi TV maintains popularity for having a significant archive of the 2003 Iraq War.
It also has other channels, such as sports for example.
